I took this photo during the Fall time while golfing at Partridge Golf Course in Canton NY. What is left of this deer leg was located about 15 feet off the 6th tee right out in the open. This means that a smaller animal found this, nibbled a little food off and then dragged it until the animal realized that its not worth the energy of dragging it. At this point birds such as crows will come in and pick off the remainder of the meat off the bone. Also, bugs and parasites come and get as much as they can out of this delicious snack.
