Amazing

8-6-14 “Amazing” - From my cottage I could tell very early on that it was going to be a spectacular morning for photography...so I took Nikki on her poopy walk extra early and brought a camera with me as I jumped in the kayak for my daily paddle. I wasn’t disappointed...it was a photographer’s dream. I’m putting this one up for you this morning....because I would have loved for you to be with me...yes, I can show you what it “sees” like to be in my kayak....but I really can’t show you what it feels like....I can’t let you hear the loons calling back and forth or the beat of their wings as they fly overhead....the snort of a deer just out of sight on a far shoreline most likely telling her fawn that bath time is either over or will have to wait until danger passes....the slap of a young beaver’s tail if I get to close to the location where a new hut is being constructed....the eerie cries of a raven that most likely has found a food source or maybe just announcing morning....the kingfishers scolding me as I scare them away from their favorite fishing spot....even the sound of my paddles as I push and pull them forcefully through the crystal clear water.....the cool air flowing across my face....the mist and smell of pines envelops me. And you know what is truly amazing....I....little old me...I am the only person out there on this glorious morning. How many people are there in the world.....ha....but there is only one floating on this magical paradise this morning...one in his kayak, a camera hanging from his neck and a big smile on his face. What did I ever do to deserve all this?
