Spring-fed Waterfall

Along the gorge is a strong waterfall sprouting straight out of the cliff face. I climbed up the cliff right alongside the waterfall, and took a picture into the cave from which the water was flowing out of, but it seems to just go straight into darkness. Seeing as there is no safe way (using the term "safe" loosely, seeing as i already climbed up a cliff wall and am now perched on a small ledge with loose stones) into the actual cave, I cannot explore further. However, I can infer that the cave will probably curve downwards into the ground. There is no source of water this large anywhere above the gorge such as a marsh or aboveground river, so this must be a spring-fed water source. Taking my shoes off and standing in the knee deep water at the bottom confirms my theory, as this water is cold!! It is interesting to me how much water is coming out of a spring like this, as most springs one encounters in the Adirondack foothills are small, little, bubbling pools near creeks.
