Large moth on the chicken coop

We found this rather large, unusual moth on the outside of our chicken coop. Anyone know what it is? It stayed there for at least several hours in the hot sun and was gone by the next day.

Not sure, but it might be some species of Polyphemus moth - large, brown, with two spots on the wings and comb-like antennae. If you google image search polyphemus moths do any of the results look similar?

That's the closest thing that I found too, but we thought it was odd that the spots on our little friend weren't colorful at all. Looking again at the picture, his wings do look a little ratty, so perhaps it was injured. He certainly didn't seem very active at the time!
