Christmas 2013 Ice Storm

Glistening, dazzling, shimmering!! Dangerous!! Slippery!! It started just a couple of days before Christmas in 2013.Many roads were closed and travel bans were implemented. Then the icing stopped, the roads were opened and the skies cleared and the sun was gleaming on all that ice coating everything. Trees, shrubs, fencerows, powerlines.Everything was transformed into a picture perfect Christmas Card scene. The ice continued to adorn the landscape for several days after Christmas because despite the welcome sunshine it was cold enough not to melt the ice for days. After a few days it did melt off the branches and powerlines.
