Join us this summer for a North Country scavenger hunt! Use this checklist as a guide to get outside and learn more about the natural world that is right in your backyard!
You will find links embedded in the activities list below. These links will lead you to blogs and other Nature Up North resources that will help you complete activities such as building a DIY bird feeder and stargazing.
Complete all the activities and submit pictures taken of you or your family on a picnic, stargazing, or more and be entered to win Nature Up North merchandise!
Attached you’ll find a printable checklist to keep track of the activities while you go, but make sure to submit the webform by August 17th to be entered.

Cloud-spotting - what shapes can you find?

Learn about an invasive or native plant species with St. Lawrence Eastern Lake Ontario Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management (SLELO PRISM) - see the attached infographics on the species featured this week (Wild Parsnip and Porcelain Berry) and check back weekly for more species to look out for while out adventuring. New species this week are the invasive forest pest, the Hemlock Woody Adelgid, the notable natives, the Green Pitcher Plant, and the Green Dragon, which is considered likely to become threatened in the near future.
