North Country explorer from Kent, Washington
I spent this past summer in the North Country for the first time. I loved how beautiful, lush, and peaceful the area was in the summertime. One thing I did not enjoy, however, was the humidity. I left the NC to return home to Seattle in August. When I returned for school on August 27th, the humidity was still strong! Finally, just a few days ago (I believe it was Wednesday the 4th or so) the humidity broke and the crisp, cool, wonderful-smelling fall weather was here. The transition was quick!
Last night I woke up to a heavy rainshower and this morning enjoyed how fresh the air felt. I found some leaves with perfect water droplets on them, and took a photo with a macro lens that magnets on to my iPhone (an upgrade from the hand lense I was using last spring, which was often finicky and difficult to use). I also noticed today how students don't get to see the wildflowers in front of Johnson Hall of Sciencd at SLU at their prime time! They were beautiful this summer, and now are shriveling up for colder days.
