Come join us as Nature Up North teams up with the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) for this year's roundup! Each year, at the end of June, Canada Geese lose their flight feathers during the seasonal molt and are flightless for anywhere from twenty to forty days. During this time, researchers take advantage to survey the geese in hopes of better tracking their numbers and migration patterns. Come help us corral in geese by canoe or on foot and enjoy a tasty barbecue meal after our efforts. We will be driving over from Canton, meeting at D-Lot, behind the athletics facilities at St. Lawrence University. (See SLU Parking Lot Map, attached below). The actual Goose Roundup will take place at Wilson Hill Wildlife Management Area. Please RSVP to info@natureupnorth.org if you plan to attend. We have limited transportation and must cap the program at 10 participants

You may also wish to bring sunscreen, bugspray, boots and/or sneakers, wet weather gear and a long-sleeved shirt to keep arms from being scratched while handling geese. This will be an all day event so please plan for it!
