This event is free and open to the public and the academic community. It will include an exhibit & fair, workshops, posters and keynote speaker. The exhibits feature tabling by community organizations, renewable energy and environmentally oriented businesses, topical posters created by area students, outdoor learning activities, an informational display of electric vehicles.

Green Living Fair & EV/Hybrid Car Show- tables, exhibits and electric vehicles will provide ample opportunity to learn about sustainability and your green living choices for a cleaner, healthier, just, and resilient future.

An ecologist and Climate Strategy Advisor for the Adirondack Research Consortium and Project Coordinator for the Adirondack Climate Outreach and Resilience Network (ACORN), a partnership of the Adirondack Research Consortium, The Wild Center, Paul Smith's College, Adirondack Foundation, and NYSERDA. She is a Regional Leader for NASA's Earth To Sky Climate Communications Academy. She is Mentor to the amazing teen-led North Country Climate Club. Sunita has served on many boards, currently with the Adirondack Center for Writing, and she helps guide local not-for-profits in strategic planning. She currently serves as a co-coordinator of North Country Homeschooling, a multi-county group of over 1,000 families who organize opportunities for home-instructed students. She was a member of the Gag Reflex Improv Comedy group, serving Adirondack communities, recovery centers, and the incarcerated with numerous workshops and shows. Sunita was formerly with the Adirondack Park Agency helping to coordinate federally funded wetlands programs, work with local governments, and review State Land Unit Management Plans. She holds a BS and MS from Cornell University in plant pathology and forest ecology.
At this event Sunita will share the results of the North Country Rural Resilience Roadmap. The Roadmap details the importance of Northern NY for achieving state and national climate goals, and it outlines local and regional needs and shovel-ready climate resiliency projects identified from community listening sessions held in the fourteen counties of Northern NY.
