June 21st is the summer solstice - the official first day of summer and the longest day of the year. Come celebrate with us at a campfire the very next day on June 22nd! We'll start with a short walk on the Kip Trail, talk a bit about why the solstices and seasons happen and enjoy the Kip tract's forested wetland on a summer evening. Then we'll head back to the campfire to indulge in s'mores and a sun that won't set until nearly 9:00pm!
This event is free and perfect for all ages. Youth under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Bring a friend or a family member!
We'll meet at the Wachtmeister Field Station off Route 27 in Canton. Stay as long as you are able! Reach out to info@natureupnorth.org or contact @natureupnorth on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with any questions.
