Join us at The TAUNY Center for a screening of “Changing Land, Living Tradition,” a short student-made film produced in partnership between Nature Up North and TAUNY, documenting the complex relationship between the North Country environment and the rich traditions people practice in this setting.

Over this past fall and spring, Nature Up North Digital Media Interns and St. Lawrence Environmental Communications students went out into the community to investigate how people in the North Country spend time outdoors, and what changes, if any, they have observed in the natural world around them, particularly in connection to traditional occupations, arts, and knowledge. From basketry to bee-keeping, boat-making to bluegrass, people of our region have all kinds of rich stories to share about change and continuity on the land. Nature Up North interns have compiled the stories collected into a short documentary, which will be screened at The TAUNY Center. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A and a reception featuring refreshments inspired by the local foodways included in the project.

There is a suggested donation of $5 for this program.
