Join us this week on a walk of the Kip Trail in Canton to learn about the secret lives of the many nocturnal animals here in the North Country. We'll talk flying squirrels, skunks, bats, owls and many more of our common, but rarely seen nocturnal neighbors. Plus, we'll discuss some of the fascinating adaptations these critters have that allow them to navigate the world at night. This walk will be led by Nature Up North Project Manager Emlyn Crocker. Please meet at the Wachtmeister Field Station at 4:30 pm. To carpool, please meet at the Brewer Bookstore at 4:15 pm (space is limited, please rsvp to info@natureupnorth.org for carpooling). 

*A naturalist walk with arborist Paul Hetzler was originally planned for this time. We have postponed this event due to the decreasing daylight hours - thanks for understanding.

This event is part of Nature Up North's Fall 2018 Naturalist Series, on second Fridays September through December from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm. Keep an eye on our events page for upcoming walks throughout the season. Nature Up North events are free and open to the public, with all skill levels and ages welcome. Youth under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Directions: Wachtmeister Field Station is located at the south end of the SLU campus in Canton. To get there, proceed south down Park St. approx. 0.25 mi past the campus athletic fields. The drive will be on the left coming from the SLU campus and right if coming from Route 27.
