Ask A Fairy: Spring Into Summer With the Fairies!
We just heard that Thimble and Blossom, our migratory fairy naturalists, are back in the North Country! In the spring they like to bounce on blooming buds, zip around with dragonflies, and take cold dips in freshly melted puddles! Through all their woodland time they’ve become excellent naturalists, and are now here to answer any questions you may have! Between May 27th and June 24th, use the clues to find their homes on trails around the North Country. Once you find their homes, use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code on the sign next to our house. It will take you to a form where you can leave us your nature questions!
Stone Valley Trail, Colton
Pass under the entrance sign and head down the hill
The river rushing on your left sure is a thrill
Shortly past the trail register you’ll see
Right where the path makes a V
Perched up on the hill our humble home sits
In between where the path splits
Find our home under a fallen log
Leave your questions about birds, bees, or fog
Maple City Trail, Ogdensburg
Behind the post office on Crescent Street
Follow the metal stairs down and you’ll meet
A sidewalk alongside the Oswegatchie River
Take a left, no need to dither
You may pass people enjoying the river breeze
As you continue look to the right for a large cluster of trees
Like fireworks bursting from the ground
Our home sits in the base waiting to be found
Edwards Nature Trail, Edwards
You’ll follow the path past the end of the fence
Continue on where the trees become more dense
Once the old train trestles are in sight
You’ll be nearing our house keep an eye to the right
Tightly nestled between three trunks of one tree
Take a peek inside, who’s there to see?
But if you cross the river you’ve gone too far
Turn back, find our house, we left the door ajar!
