Have you ever spotted a frog on a walk through the North Country? Do you want to learn more about some of our amphibian friends? Come join us for an evening walk along the Kip Trail on Thursday June 30th at 8:00 pm at Wachtmeister Field Station to spot, identify and learn about frogs!
This event is free and perfect for all ages. Youth under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. We plan to walk about a mile down and back on the Kip, but the trail is pretty flat so the walk is not strenuous. As we walk we will learn a little about frog anatomy, the frog’s life cycle and how to identify the frogs we encounter! The Frog Walk is a great evening family activity.
The trail can get wet so make sure to bring close toed shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit muddy. Bring your own headlamp or flashlight to help you spot our frog friends. We have a couple extra headlamps if needed. Bug spray will be supplied by Nature Up North. We'll meet at the Wachtmeister Field Station off Route 27 in Canton. Reach out to info@natureupnorth.org or contact @natureupnorth on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with any questions.
