Join staff from Nature Up North, Nicandri Nature Center, Cornell Cooperative Extension, and Indian Creek Nature Center for a four part series in nature tech this summer. Learn how to use apps that can help you identify what you see in nature - from birds to plants to slugs - and how to be part of app-based community science.
This session is on the eBird app, which helps you identify the birds around you, all while connecting with a community of over a million scientists and naturalists who can help you learn more about bird’s species, habitat, and abundance in our area! By recording and sharing your observations, you’ll create research quality data for scientists working to better understand and protect nature. eBird is a project of Cornell Lab of Ornithology and is partnered with the Merlin app.
All sessions are free and open to all ages. A smartphone is needed for the apps, but we'll let you use one of ours if you don't have one on hand.
