Ask A Fairy: Thimble and Blossom Are Back!
Besides the fall foliage and fresh apple picking available in the fall season, there’s one other thing we all look forward to - the return of the fairies! Each fall Thimble and Blossom migrate through the North Country on their way south for the winter. During their travels they spend a lot of time chatting with chipmunks, lounging with ladybugs, playing with plants. Through all their woodland time they’ve become excellent naturalists, and are now here to answer any questions you may have! Between October 3rd and 24th, use the clues to find our homes on trails around the North Country. This year, to help us and you stay safe and healthy, use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code on the sign next to our house. It will take you to a form where you can leave us your nature questions!
Stone Valley (Colton):
Cross the bridge made of wire.
Heed the warnings of danger, dire.
Keep on exploring, down the trail.
Try to find me, to no avail.
Just a little further then you’ll see, I’m resting on a downed and mossy tree.
Kip Trail (Canton):
Jump on the kip trail, follow your feet.
If you can find me you’re in for a treat.
Lots of birches are standing, but I am not there.
Now you are wondering, where are they, just where?
Keep going until you find the dry spruce, firs and pines. a little off the trail is where I reside!
Hart's Falls (Pyrities):
Past the gate, down the trail, not kestrel, nor merlins, nor birds with blue tails.
Just a little further into the leafless trees, that’s where my little pink fairy house will be!
Look for responses to your questions on the Nature Up North Website in mid-December.
Thimble and Blossom can not wait to hear from you!
