River habitat
The Raquette River is one of the longest rivers running from the Adirondacks. The river is also the most dammed in the state. The river was created by the adirondack mountains and glacial recession. The river has been used for many different uses over years and years mostly transpiration, and now for energy. The winter wasteland slowly falling apart is truly pretty to look at degrading back into the beauty and livelihood of spring and summer. Seeing the river break up and turn into a lively flowing beauty that is beautiful and so pretty to see and hear is great. The thing that changes most from winter to spring other than view is sound. The sound of the river is one of the first signs of spring.
