Whip poor will flushed from its nest and landed 15-20' away. I was lucky it sat still for a couple of shutter clicks. It then flew up onto a limb above it. I shot a couple more shots and left the area. Total time was less than a minute. The nest was very close to the trail. i believe with the all the foot traffic it got use to people and never went far from the nest.
