Nature Up North is excited to announce the 6th Annual Winterfest Cardboard Sled Races!

Nature Up North is excited to be bringing back the Cardboard Sled Races for a SIXTH year! Join us for a morning of sledding at the SUNY Canton Sledding Hill on sleds you create yourself from cardboard. Teams or individuals are invited to enter, and each sled must carry one team member. The race will be on February 10th with registration from 10:00 - 10:30. At 10:30 will be the "parade of sleds" and sled judging, with the races beginning immediately thereafter. Sleds will be judged overall, for special categories, and by division for the fastest time!

Not sure how to build a cardboard sled? Stop by our Sled-Building Workshop at the Wachmeister Field Station (location linked here) between 10 am and 1 pm on Saturday, February 3rd. We'll teach you everything you need to know and provide any materials you don't bring yourself!

Approved materials: Cardboard, duct tape, recycled plastic bags, paint, and glue.

Divisions: Youth (12 and under), Open (13 and up), Family (multi-ages) and College.

Registration: To register ahead follow this link to our web form (https://www.natureupnorth.org/form/6th-annual-cardboard-sled-race-r). Or, you can email info@natureupnorth.org with your team name, participant names and grades, and division. Day of registration will also be available February 10th from 10:00 am - 10:30 am.

Rain/weather date: February 11th and 24th, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. Any rescheduling will be announced the day before on social media and at natureupnorth.org. The first reschedule will be to the 11th, then the 24th if poor weather persists.
