Beginner Canoeing and Tree Paddle

Event date and time
June 22, 2013 - 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Join us for a day on the Little River where we will go over some introductory paddling strokes and safety techniques before heading out onto the Little and Grasse Rivers to check out the trees and  other wildlife found along the riverbank.   We will learn to ID some of the most common species and  talk about the part trees play in the greater river ecosystem.

Please be prepared for weather, we will go out in rain or shine (but not thunder)!  It is always good to have a rain jacket and some sort of warm layer.  Please bring a water bottle per person and a life jacket if you have one. Please feel free to bring your own canoe or kayaks if you have them.

We will meet at 1pm at the canoe launch south of the Little River bridge on Park Street.  It is your first right after the bridge.  Look for the Nature Up North banner!

Please RSVP to info@natureupnorth.org with the number in your group.

We have limited canoe space and must cap the program at 16 participants.
