Community Campfire: Fireflies

Event date and time
July 20, 2023 - 7:00 PM to July 20, 2023 - 9:00 PM

Summer is in full swing and fireflies are beginning to light up the night sky. Join us for another installment in our community campfire series on Thursday, July 20th from 7:00-9:00 P.M. to learn about fireflies and how they light up. We’ll also try and catch some fireflies so we can witness their bioluminescence first-hand. As always, we’ll end the night with some smores.

This event is free and perfect for all ages. Youth under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Bring a friend or a family member!
We'll meet at the Wachtmeister Field Station off Route 27 in Canton. Stay as long as you are able! Reach out to info@natureupnorth.org or contact @natureupnorth on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with any questions.

The Wachtmeister Field Station is located just south of the St. Lawrence University campus on Park St./County Route 27 in Canton. If approaching from Canton Village, it is the first driveway on the left after passing over the wooden bow bridge over the Little River. If approaching from the south, the Field Station is the third driveway on the right after passing Kunoco. Wachtmeister Field Station has a single indoor restroom.
