Hike the Red Sandstone Trail with Potsdam Pride

Event date and time
March 17, 2024 - 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Join Potsdam Pride and Nature Up North for a casual hike on the Red Sandstone Trail!

Starting at the north entrance on the Back Hanawah Road, we'll walk south towards Hanawah Falls and the quarry that built much of Potsdam. Along the way, you'll also learn some history about the trail, the land, and how it is managed and maintained today.

Starting at 10:00 am on Sunday, March 17th, and continuing as long as participants would like, this hike will start as a 1.5-mile round trip to the quarry from the northern entrance. If participants would like, the hike can continue up to another .75 miles to Hanaway Falls and the southern entrance, forming a 3-mile round trip. After our hike, Sugar Island is also located north of where we'll be parking.
