Advocating for the Rights of Rivers in the St. Lawrence River Watershed with Blake Lavia and Tzintzun Aguilar-Izzo, Talking Rivers
Rivers are part of the North Country community. They fulfill their roles and responsibilities towards us humans, and our more than human relations. In order to fulfill our responsibilities towards these waters that bring life to all, Talking Rivers is working to honor and advocate for the Rights of Rivers. This follows in tandem with the Rights of Nature movement, which seeks to pass legislation that protects the legally enforceable rights of more than human species and ecosystems. Blake Lavia and Tzintzun Aguilar-Izzo from Talking Rivers will address how Rights of Rivers works in the North Country context and will discuss how people can take part in this growing movement.
