Breakfast

At 7:30 am, just after turning from Route 11 onto Romoda Drive, yawning as I rounded the corner and beginning to consider my first tasks of the day upon arrival at the office, I saw them - two fawns and (presumably?) their mama. Quietly breakfasting between the line of trees and the unmowed field/meadow... I could not help stopping to watch...they heard the morning wake-up music quit and looked up as I freed my phone to take their pictures...I became aware of another car stopped just behind me...I reluctantly said goodbye and pulled forward so as not to completely obstruct the road...and saw the car behind me still there - obviously enjoying the scene the same way I had been...and then, another car pulled up behind it...

Nothing like an unexpected gift to start the day off just right....

Aren't they sweet? I had one a fawn in my back yard in the village this morning, too. Spooked my not-so-brave labrador...
