Lampson Falls in an officially named waterfall on the USGS GNIS data base. The falls about about 40 ft high and 100 ft wide. The area is a genuine, natural beauty. I chose this photo because it's a great example of a porcupine track. Porcupines often use the same trail to move in the same direction, so the tracks look like tunnels. Because they travel on the same path it is common to see urine and pieces of hemlock branches (the porcupine's favorite food!) scattered along the trail. Porcupine tracks are also notoriously winding and crooked, often leading from one tree to another or from a tree to a water source.
