North Country explorer from Locust Valley, New York
Close Up: This picture was taken on February 10th, 2014 at Stone Valley in Colton, New York. I found this picture so interesting because of the water movement down the river. Stone Valley's rapids over waterfalls create rock islands, gorges, and overhanging cliffs. During this day the water level was high and was moving with a awesome force behind it. During this class field trip I wanted to get a close up of the rapids going down the river so I climbed onto a boulder sticking out of the river. I would love to come back and take a picture when the water level is low and see how big the difference is between the two photos.
