What is Encounter Earth? It is our challenge to North Country residents to show us what they love about engaging with the local environment! Here's how to participate:
1. Take a picture during Earth Day Weekend (sunrise Saturday, April 22nd - midnight Sunday, April 23) of people in nature somewhere in the North Country. The picture should show something about how and why you love spending time outside. This can be a picture of yourself or friends and family, and can show people working, playing, or adventuring... let your imagination run wild! Click here to check out our winners from last year's challenge.
2. Post the picture on Nature Up North as an Encounter. You'll need to create a free account on natureupnorth.org to do so. If you need help, check out this video on how to post an Encounter. Pictures must be TAKEN and POSTED anytime between sunrise on April 22 and midnight on April 23.
3. Our team will take a look at all your photos, and our favorite will be highlighted on the Nature Up North home page and considered for selection as the April photo in the 2018 Nature Up North Calendar! Plus, the three Encounter Earth photos with the most votes from our team will win prizes! So, get ready...get set...and go crazy Encountering Earth!
