Sugar maples are essential North Country trees. In the face of climate change, there is concern about how a warming and increasingly unpredictable climate will affect both sugar maple health and maple syrup production. Through Nature Up North's Monitor My Maple project, North Country residents are mobilizing to collect data on how climate, habitat, and human activities affect local sugar maples.
