St. Lawrence Land Trust Annual Bird Walk
Join the St. Lawrence Land Trust and Tom Langen on a bird walk at Upper & Lower Lakes State Wildlife Management Area (ULL SWMA) near Canton, NY on Saturday May 19. The walk will be led by Tom Langen, a Clarkson University Biology Professor and St. Lawrence Land Trust Board President.

St. Lawrence Land Trust 4th Annual State of the River Talk From Sturgeon to Habitat Restoration
As part of Canton Winterfest, on Thursday, February 15 at 7pm, the St. Lawrence Land Trust and Grasse River Heritage present the Fourth Annual State of the Rivers Talk. Mr. Scott Schlueter, Biologist, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Cortland, NY will be speaking on "From Sturgeon to Habitat Restoration"
St. Lawrence Land Trust Waterfall Walk
On October 21st, the St. Lawrence Land Trust will lead a trip to the Tooley Pond Road waterfalls. These are a spectacular set of waterfalls, each a short walk from the road and each worth visiting. We will explore 4 different waterfalls along the road. The tour is a mix of drives along paved and gravel roads and short, easy walks to the waterfalls. This is an outing for the whole family.
Participants should meet at the ADK Park sign on the western end of the Tooley Pond Rd. at 10 a.m. (about 1.5 miles up the road from Degrasse), The tour should be less than 2 hours total.
St. Lawrence Land Trust Bird Trip
The St. Lawrence Land Trust is celebrating International Migratory Bird Day with a bird trip around Upper and Lower Lakes WMA, Canton Sat. May 13 7 am – 12 pm led by Michael Greenwald. Some of the birds that breed at Upper and Lower Lakes WMA are bald eagles, common loons, osprey, bobolinks, American bitterns, wood ducks, wild turkeys, mallards, ruffed grouse, and American woodcock. We will carpool to various spots around Upper and Lower Lakes including Indian Creek Nature Center. It is a perfect time of year to be on the trails and looking for birds.
State of the Rivers Talk
Join us for the Third Annual State of the Rivers Talk, hosted by the St. Lawrence Land Trust and Grasse River Heritage at the Grasse River Heritage Room (30 Court St, Canton).
Mr. Tom Van de Water, a science teacher at Canton High School, will be speaking about "The Environmental History of the Grasse River". We'll see you there!

Hart's Falls Clean Up Day
The St. Lawrence Land Trust is holding a clean-up day at its Hart’s Falls Property, Sept. 17. We will be starting at 10 am and at noon break for lunch on the rocks with a discussion of the local geology with Dr. Jeff Chiarenzelli, St. Lawrence University. Bring work gloves, a lunch, and something to drink. Hart’s Falls is located in the town of Russell just south of the intersection of Town Line Rd and the Pyrites-Russell Rd. on the Grasse River. St. Lawrence Land Trust Bird Walk
The St. Lawrence Land Trust is celebrating International Migratory Bird Day and Global Big Day with a bird walk at the new DEC Nichols Pool Trail in the Wilson Hill Wildlife Management Area in Louisville, Sat. May 14 7 am – 10:00 am led by Jeff Bolsinger. Some of the birds that breed at Wilson Hills WMA are bald eagles, common loons, osprey, bobolinks, American bitterns, wood ducks, wild turkeys, mallards, ruffed grouse, and American woodcock. The trail is little more than 1 mile with three observation areas and overlooks the recently completed Nichols Pool Habitat Improvement Project.
State of the Rivers Talk
St. Lawrence Land Trust Second Annual State of the River Talk. Dr. Jeffrey Chiarenzelli, Geology St. Lawrence University will be speaking on the implications of global climate change on the hydrology of Adirondack rivers.
