I took this photo at Indian Creek on a class field trip where our assignment was to observe nature for an hour and then write a reflection on what we experienced. During the observation time I stood up to walk around and found these fresh chipmunk tracks. I know it is a chipmunk because of the size of the tracks. The chipmunk was jumping/ running and then walked around for a little before digging a hole to the subnivean level either to get some food off the ground or to hide from a nearby predator.
