Overpopulation of Squirrels

Behind Brown Hall on St. Lawrence campus squirrels were running around in the snow scavenging for food. What is interesting, is not the squirrel, but the fact that it was looking for food is sub-zero-degree weather. St. Lawrence campus is heavily populated by squirrels begs the question: is there an over population of squirrels? Making food scarce thus forcing them to scavenge around areas far from trees and possible homes. Yes, with the amount of squirrels living in such a confined area it makes sense that food would be much harder to find with the population at hand.
