Red Pine in Front of River

This is an up close photo of what I believe is a red pine. Often times it is difficult to distinguish between different types of pine tree from a distance because it really comes down to the needles. This picture shows that each fascicle contains two needles, which is indicative of a red pine, among others. I like this picture a lot because it focuses on color; the green stands out against a background of mostly white and other neutral colors caused by the bare deciduous trees. The river in the background is also a nice touch.
