View from Azure Mountain; Waverly, NY
taken on the top of Azure mountain on March 26th at approximately 2:30pm
This picture shows a couple of small hills not too far away from Azure mountain. You can see the mountainside covered in deciduous trees with evergreens on the bottom. As you increase in altitude, the trees become smaller because of the scarcity of resources in higher places. The Adirondacks were formed about 1 – 1.3 billion years ago as the result of intense heat and pressure on sediment on the bottom of an ancient ocean. A few of the elements I like about this photo are the clear sky evenly fading from white at the horizon to blue at the top, as well as the image of a mountain placed nicely in the center. Seeing these hills in comparison with the houses below gives a sense of how big they are.
