Join award-winning photographer, and geologist, Chris Murray as he shares his enthusiasm for documenting the natural beauty of our region, and discuss the techniques and equipment used as he shoots. Participants must have a working knowledge of their cameras. *This trek is reserved for TILT supporters. The Thousand Islands Land Trust’s (TILT) TeenTrek Paddle Board Adventure
Exploring TILT’s French Creek by paddle board is the perfect way for young conservationists to learn more about the quiet waters of this important tributary to the St. Lawrence, and the countless species of birds, amphibians, fish, and plant life that inhabit it. A limited number of paddle board rentals are available for a $15 rental fee, in partnership with Riverbay Adventure Inn. Teen kayakers are welcome as well!

The Thousand Islands Land Trust’s (TILT) Green Film Fest and Nature Photography Show
Based on the popularity of TILT’s 2014 Green Movie Night, you are once again invited to power off the TV at home and join your friends and neighbors, this time for a two-day, Green Film Fest and Nature Photography Show! Doors will open at 6:30pm both nights, so that you may enjoy the nature photography displayed on the 3rd floor, along with food prepared by Mustard Seed Natural Market, before the films begin at 7:30pm.

Last summer’s “De-Stress in Nature” treks were a hit, so TILT is bringing the series back, this time featuring different ways to “find your center” out on the land! In June, Linda Potter, of Nautilus Retreats and Coaching, will lead us in experiencing the benefits of writing, inspired by a peaceful walk in the woods. Please bring your own notebook and pen.

The Thousand Islands Land Trust’s (TILT) “Silver” Crooked Creek Kayak
Join kayak-enthusiast, and TILT trustee, Jane Carver for a special, “silver” paddle to explore the beautiful Crooked Creek Preserve, which is one of the most significant wetlands on the St. Lawrence, providing habitat for countless species. This paddle will include basic kayak instruction, is appropriate for all-levels, and is senior-friendly. A limited number of single and double kayaks are available for a $15 rental fee, in partnership with Riverbay Adventure Inn.
Thousand Islands Land Trust’s (TILT) “For the Birds” Celebration
An exciting new birding-related event, featuring a variety of workshops that kids, families, birders and birders-in-training can enjoy: There will be an Adaptation-Station; Adopt-a-Bird Agency; bird call IDing; big nest building; and birdhouse building and painting - with local experts, the Minna Anthony Common Nature Center and the TI Arts Center. Participants will also have the chance to assist NY Audubon representatives and TILT staff with designating Zenda as an eBird App “hotspot” through a mini-bioblitz!

Pick Your Preserve! Tackle Your Trail! TILT is calling all volunteers to help steward our Macsherry Trail on the Crooked Creek Preserve, Otter Creek Preserve Nature Trail, Grindstone Island Nature Trail, Potters Beach Preserve or MacFarlane Trail at Zenda Farms Preserve to get these popular outdoor recreation destinations ready for another busy summer season. Wear your work clothes and be sure to bring gloves and tools if you have them. TILT will provide water and Subway of Clayton will provide lunch.
