Kids Nature Camp
Kids 5 - 12 can learn all about nature doing fun activities during the summer break. Each day a new topic and activity is planned. This is an opportunity to get kids outdoors and active while learning something new about nature. New technology will be introduced and kids will get to learn STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

Discovering Birds
Come out to the Robert Moses Nature Center trail head and learn all about birds native to the north country. Using iPad apps and bird identifiers, take a walk along the trails and see how many different kinds of feathered friends we can identify. All ages welcome. Easy to walk trail completely paved. Bug spray recommended.
Campfire Cooking
The Friends of the Nature Center in Massena will hold a Campfire Cooking event at the Nature Center from 6:30pm - 8pm every Friday, July 11 through July 25th. Join the Nature Center staff and create delicious treats that you make yourself over an open fire in our outdoor fire pit. All ages welcome. A $1 donation is requested per person.

Free Nature Craft for Kids
Enjoy the summer in Nature! The Massena Nature Center staff is hosting a series of free outdoor crafts classes for kids. Each day will be a new nature theme and project.

Classes held under the big white tent at the Nature Center, 19 Robinson Bay Rd., Massena. Parents are welcome to stay, or pick the kids up at 11:30am (Children under 5 need parents to assist).
Daily Nature Hikes at Massena Nature Center
To celebrate the arrival of summer The Friends of the Robert Moses State Park Nature Center, Inc. are hosting daily nature hikes from Tuesday, July 1st through Sat., July 5th. Each morning at 9am, come along on a guided hour-long walk through the trails at the Nature Center and learn about some of the local flora and fauna. Experience the beauty the summer brings to the North Country. The trails are gentle rolling hills, easy to hike for all ages. Dress for weather. Closed-toed shoes and bug spray with DEET is recommended.
Free Educational Presentation on Predators
Saturday, June 7th – Adirondack Wildlife Refuge offers a free educational presentation on predators from 1 – 3pm at the Massena Nature Center. Meet a Red Fox, an Arctic Fox and birds of prey. Learn how they are vital to our world. Following the presentation, kids can play a game of “Who Eats What!” – matching predators to their prey. Nature: There’s an app for that!
Come out to the Massena Nature Center and take a guided hike through the trails using tablets and SMART phones. Identify wildlife using field guide apps. Get into the STEM of things.
